Throughout my life, I have always been interested in Japanese culture, especially food!
In my senior year of high school, I researched the machiya, or traditional Japanese townhome and how Westernization changed the idea of the Japanese house completely. From this project, my interest in Japanese culture grew (as well as my interest in architecture) and thus I decided to take Japanese in college! I must admit that the language is sometimes challenging and takes awhile to get used to, but it has so far been a great experience!
